Who We Are

The Nunavut Black Business Association (NBBA) is a community-driven charitable organization based in Nunavut committed to advancing Black and Inuit communities in Canada. We combat anti-Black racism by addressing two key issues. First, we address the historic underinvestment in Black communities by providing support and subsistence. Second, we work to enhance collaboration among Black organizations and leaders, enabling more impactful support and advocacy. Our focus areas include education, youth development, healthcare, gender equality, entrepreneurship, arts, culture, recreation, and food security, all aimed at improving the quality of life in Black and Inuit communities across Nunavut.

Our Mission
We are a non-profit organization, the NBBA, is on a mission to empower
Black and Inuit-owned businesses, nurture entrepreneurship, boost economic development, and enrich commerce within Black and Inuit communities.

Our Vision
Our vision is to create a future where Black-owned businesses thrive at the heart of
Nunavut as well as Canada’s economy, where entrepreneurship is accessible and supported in every Black community, and where economic development leads to prosperity, equity, and empowerment for all. We aspire to be a catalyst for positive change, inspiring collaboration, and innovation to make this vision a reality.

Our Values ( Do The Right Thing )

characterized by our resourcefulness, adaptability, and a forward-thinking perspective that transcends limited horizons, recognizing the potential for even greater impact.

individual contributions but also for our team’s efforts and the overall success of the organization, consistently exercising sound judgment and proactively presenting solutions when necessary.
